Powerful?

Forbes announced recently their list of most powerful women...Apparently they based this on 'visibility' and 'economic impact'

One can be a leading actress, a leading Govt official, a CEO of a multi billion dollar transnational, etc etc, but does this make them powerful?

What is power, but the ability to influence a large group of unrelated people, with no undercurrent of undue influence, in order to initiate social change?

By this yardstick, someone who is unsung and with poor visibility( hence never gets noticed !!!), changing lives of thousands of underprivileged humans ought to be making the grade.

Professional competence in broad governing, and profit oriented non self- less endeavours, with minimal, if not nil social impact on change and development in any appreciable mass of people, cannot be mistaken for power.

Hi Kishore

The highest power that one can possess is power over self, to rise above personal gains and ambitions and work for general welfare.

In reality there are scores of such people. But they do ont receive media coverage. Hence they remian unsung heros.

Hope to see more frequent posts.
